Location
The Hall is in the centre of Blyth opposite the Village Green on the High Street (B6045). It is six miles north of Worksop and approximately midway between Worksop, Retford and Bawtry, and it is easily accessible from the adjacent A1(M) at the Blyth roundabout. The post code is S81 8EW. Description of facilities
The Hall was largely refurbished in 2004/5, has a full Premises Licence and comprises:
Ground floor
- Large main hall and stage accommodating up to 200 persons in theatre style or 120+ at tables, depending on the type of function. A bar is available by arrangement for functions.
- Meeting room to seat up to 40 persons.
- Large modern kitchen (use is included in hire charges).
- Two good size reception areas.
- Toilet and cloakroom facilities.
First floor
(Not suitable for access by some disabled persons).
- Snooker Room with two full size tables and equipment.
- Meeting Room (with small kitchen) accommodating 20- 30 persons.
Regular user groups open to the public as at 1st January 2011
Blyth Pre-School have daily morning and afternoon sessions in their own room with outside play facilities. Blyth Players drama group usually perform a Pantomime and have two or three other productions during the year, with rehearsals also held at the Hall.
Other regular users of the Hall at various times of the year, either for meetings, events or for practising, include the Women's Institute, Mothers' Union, St Mary and St Martin Handbell Ringers, kickboxing, pilates, boxercise, Slimming World, antiques classes, and several badminton groups, and there are occasional craft fairs throughout the year. There is also a toddler and baby group each week, which is run by Blyth Pre-School. The Parish Council meets in the first floor meeting room on the second Monday of each month.

Hourly rates include use of kitchen for tea/coffee making, and stage for users of Main Hall.

Hire charge rates for special events - with effect from 1st April 2011
The following rates apply for hire of the Barnby Memorial Hall facilities for Wedding Receptions, Discos, Birthday Parties, Seminars, Conferences etc. Equipment (tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery etc) is also available for hire.
Main Hall
Evening Disco, Wedding Reception etc. - £180.00***
Casino Night/Quiz Night - £110.00***
Afternoon and evening Wedding Reception - £260.00***
All Childrens Parties - - £9.50 per hour
There is an additional charge of £15.00 for each event which occasions the Caretaker attanding after midnight where there is no bar: See below for an additioial charge when the bar closes after 11pm.

Christenings and other weekend afternoon events without bar - twice hourly rate but with discretionary shading
Conferences/Seminars - Full day 0900-1700 £190.00 (Summer - no bar) £200.00 (Winter - no bar)

*** When a bar is required rates are increased by:
£10.00 for bar up to 11pm (function ends at 11.30pm or midnight) £190.00
£15.00 for bar up to 11.30pm (ends 11.30pm or midnight) £195.00
£20.00 for bar up to 12 midnight (function ends at 1.00am) £200.00
£25.00 for bar up to 12.30am (function ends at 1am) £205.00
The Secretary has discretion to negotiate charges for events which do not fall exactly into the above categories and when: (1) hourly rates are not appropriate; (2) extensive use is made of the kitchen facilities (usually when outside caterers are used); (3) substantial waste is created and not removed; (4) allowing clearing up on the day following an event (subject to agreement with the Caretaker and ensuring that next day users are not inconvenienced).

BAR
All services must be provided by the Bar Steward and only alcohol provided by the Hall is permitted to be served on the premises with the following (rare) exceptions:
(1) Wine which is supplied by the event organiser (by arrangement with the Secretary) and is subject to a minimum corkage charge of £3.00 per bottle or £5.00 per box.
(2) Welcoming drink/drink for toast - no additional charge for either but if both required one will be charged.
