Mothers' Union

Mother's Union Logo We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Barnby Memorial Hall at 2.30pm. We are a friendly little group who are always ready to welcome visitors and new members.

Our purpose is Christian Care for Families and we have worldwide membership covering many areas of the world, including parts of Africa, Australia and New Zealand and parts of the Far East.

Our initiatives include:

  • Fund Raising for AFIA (Away From It All) – holidays for disadvantaged families
  • Support for our worldwide Relief Fund
  • Support for our Literacy Projects
  • Parenting courses
  • Hospital Visiting
  • Prison Visiting

We also have close links with Bassetlaw Hospital, providing knitted blankets and baby garments for the neo-natal unit.

Added to all this, our meetings are lively with a mix of parties (Harvest, Christmas etc), meetings involving speakers, and outings, with a garden meeting in the summer.

Our meetings begin with a short service and an update on up-coming events.
